“Today we awoke to glorious blue skies.  Perfect weather for drinking coffee on the balcony and admiring the view.”

“We took the opportunity to head to Innsbruck to session the Landhausplatz, a unique skateable plaza in the middle of the city.  It wasn’t ideal for streetboarders but we Gabriel killed it, filming a sick line and a perfect Nosebluntslide.”

“That guy has so much energy, he just doesn’t stop skating.”

“Following a brief interlude at a concrete park around the corner, we hooked up with Thomas Kienle, who had secured the keys to an indoor bowl in Kufstein for a private session.  It was a tight bowl and with everyone on their last legs after a long few days, it was difficult to skate.”

“Ole managed a crail on the cradle, Klaus locked in some back smiths round the coping whilst Thomas threw down the line of the night which included a transfer into the bowl.

The day ended with a night session back in Brixlegg under the floodlights.  It was less about tricks and more about drinking a few beers and cruising the bowl.  It was good to just chill out and enjoy the last session of the tour with the crew.  Tomorrow we travel back home.”

“We took the opportunity to have a lazy morning a cook up a hearty breakfast.  Another indoor session in Innsbruck was on the cards but fortunately, things started to dry up so we passed Brixlegg on the way to check it out.”

“Although it was still wet in places, it was good enough to skate (albeit a little windy).  The Brixlegg bowl is huuuuge but just being able to cruise round and find your line is fun.”

Josh Newman – Indy over the hip
“Gabriel and Josh were blasting out some Indys over the hip and Ole and George were laying down some grinds round the bends.  Aside from the bowl, the rest of the park is pretty sketchy however, there was one particularly interesting water gap which was fun to session.”

“You had to get your speed from all the way over the other side of the park, but there was no room for error as failing to make the gap would land you straight in the pond.  We finished the day with a BBQ back at the apartments.”

The Autobahn – Longdrive from Vienna

“So the Tyrol Tour began today, A 4 day trip around some of the finest skateparks in the Austrian Alps.  The tour has grown since its birth 5 or 6 years ago and this year there will be upwards of 20-30 Streetboarders, mostly from Austria and Germany apart from a couple from the UK, Myself (Colin Horan) and Josh Newman, although he currently resides in Vienna anyway.”

“We didn’t get off to a great start, it rained during almost all of our 4 hour drive from Vienna it rained but thankfully, it dried up in time for a quick warm up session in Worgl.”

” The skatepark is quirky but it was nice to get things started.  Most of the guys stuck to the bowl but myself, Josh and Ole (Treptow) sessioned this awkward tight back to wall stall thing. Josh managed a nose blunt.”

“The sky eventually gave way so we have to abandon ship and head to the beautifully (if not a little slippy) indoor park in Insbruck, where we met up with Thomas K and his Kiste Crew.  Again, the session was pretty chilled.  I think most of the guys are saving themselves for tomorrow…”
